6 Exercises You Can Do Anywhere

Ask everyone you know about their own exercise challenges, and you will receive a wide variety of answers. But most of these will fall into a few primary categories, such as inconvenience, lack of time, lack of access to equipment, and the expense of gym memberships or classes.

All the planning in the world won’t make much impact on your weight loss plan unless you follow through with those plans. And that can be difficult to do, when the above challenges present themselves. Luckily, there are ways to overcome those difficulties and make exercise accessible to just about anyone with any schedule. Just incorporate body weight exercises into your daily schedule, and you can tone up and burn calories without much hassle.

You don’t need much time, if you skip the gym and exercise at home (or even in the office, during breaks). You also won’t need a gym membership or any equipment to perform these moves:

  • Squats to work your butt and legs
  • Lunges to tone your butt and legs, and improve balance and strength
  • Push-ups to work your shoulders, pectorals, triceps and abs
  • Planks for toning and strengthening your core
  • Single-leg balance; from a standing position, lift one knee and balance for ten seconds, then switch. You can also lift your legs to the rear, to tone different muscle groups.
  • The Superman; while lying face-down on the floor, squeeze your glutes to lift your legs, lift your shoulders, and “fly”for ten seconds or more

Remember, the best exercise plan is one that you will stick with. These moves won’t necessarily change your life, but they can be a part of an overall exercise and weight loss plan. Incorporate them into your daily routine, particularly on days that you’re too busy to get to a gym. Walking or some other form of aerobic exercise will round out the day.
