Are you bothered by signs of aging? If so, you’re not alone. Our Western culture certainly places a lot of emphasis on youthful beauty, and many of us are looking for the best anti-aging treatments that will safely turn back the clock a bit.

Luckily, advancing medical science is providing us with those solutions. Juvederm is one such treatment, that offers instant, dramatic results in the form of simple, in-office injections.

What is Juvederm?

Juvederm is a dermal filler, delivered via injection to facial areas affected by lines and wrinkles. The smooth gel restores moisture, volume, and elasticity to skin depleted of those characteristics by age and sun damage. Juvederm delivers natural-looking results that are superior to other filler products, which are sometimes described as giving a “grainy” appearance.

In particular, Juvederm is used to treat moderate to severe lines around the nose, mouth, lips, and chin.

How long will my Juvederm treatment last?

Results from your Juvederm treatment can be seen immediately, and will last for up to one year.  At that point, you might wish to repeat the procedure.

How long does the procedure take? Will it hurt?

Juvederm offers a distinct advantage over traditional “cosmetic surgery”, for obvious reasons: You aren’t subject to surgical risks such as infection, you won’t be subject to a long healing time, and discomfort is quite minimal by comparison. Juvederm products do contain lidocaine, which will numb the areas being treated. You shouldn’t feel more than mild discomfort.

Treatment with Juvederm can be performed within the time frame of a simple in-office appointment. Afterward, you can return to most of your usual activities, and “recovery” should not be long or uncomfortable. You might experience very mild symptoms for up to seven days afterward.

Is Juvederm safe?

Juvederm is the only FDA-approved dermal filler product for moderate to severe facial wrinkles. Of course, no treatment or medication is ever completely risk-free, but Juvederm is widely regarded as a comparatively safe and low-risk anti-aging treatment.
